Keynote Speaker

Virginia Assessment Group is pleased to announce that Dr. J. Patrick Biddix will give the keynote address. Dr. Biddix is on the faculty at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he studies co-curricular college outcomes and student learning. We are delighted that he will join us in November.

Dr. J. Patrick Biddix is Professor of Higher Education and Associate Director of the Postsecondary Education Research Center (PERC) at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (UTK). His teaching and research expertise areas include research methods and assessment and postsecondary experiences and outcomes. In 2015, he served as a Fulbright Scholar in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Biddix is the author of the 2018 textbook, Research Methods and Applications for Student Affairs and co-authored the 2nd edition Assessment in Student Affairs. He serves on the leadership team for the NASPA Assessment Evaluation and Research (AER) Knowledge Community as well as the Board of Directors for Student Affairs Assessment Leaders (SAAL). Aside from spending time with an active family of five, he hikes, listens to 1990s hip-hop, and plays unnecessarily complicated board games.
