Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment, Senior Research Associate – Job posting
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join a strong team and collaborate in conducting and improving assessments. Duties include coordinating the assessment of entering and graduating student cohorts; creating and maintaining online assessment instruments and assessment databases; conducting statistical and qualitative analyses; assisting teaching and administrative faculty in the development of assessment plans and reports; managing the assessment website; and responding to ad hoc data requests. Qualifications: Master’s degree in social science, education, business or related area; documented effective communication, leadership and collaboration skills; documented knowledge of assessment theory and practice; proficiency in SAS or SPSS or similar language; skills with database, spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software applications; applied research design and statistics; documented experiences providing data support and analysis to a variety of audiences; demonstrated experience managing large databases and generating reports; experience managing data both with statistical packages/programming languages (e.g., SAS, SPSS) and Microsoft desktop applications (Excel, MS Access, Word, PowerPoint); demonstrated ability work as a member of a team to reach common goals.
