Call for Proposals

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

We are accepting proposals for the VAG/VRAS conference, November 20-22 in Staunton, VA.  We will be accepting proposals for the following types of sessions:

  • Posters – Poster presentations combine a short oral presentation with a visual display to facilitate short conversations sharing current work, research, or examples. Poster presentations will overlap with the Opening Reception on Wednesday, November 20th.
  • Research Presentation (15 minutes) – A one-hour session will include up to 3 distinct research presentations. These brief presentations will showcase empirical work. A brief Q&A will follow each presentation along with a joint discussion period at the end of all presentations.
  • Practice Presentation (15 minutes) – A one-hour session will include up to 3 distinct practice presentations. These brief presentations will showcase practices that can aid the work of others in the field. A brief Q&A will follow each presentation along with a joint discussion period at the end of all presentations.
  • Roundtable Discussion (30 minutes) – Roundtable discussions allow for informal connection around a focused topic. The presenter shares an idea for 5-10 minute and then a conversation among attendees ensues.
  • Panel (1-hour) – A panel includes 2-4 experts on a focused topic of interest and 1 moderator. If proposing a panel, be sure to list all panelists and a moderator at the time of submission. Panel discussions often focus on timely topics of interest to a wide audience.

Of note, we are hosting Headliners this year, which reduces the number of concurrent session openings. As such, we have derived new and shorter format options.

This year we invite proposals consistent with the conference theme and subthemes, but welcome presentations on other topics and issues in assessment and institutional effectiveness.
